1. Rochester coal mine, USA: more than 2.3 billion tons of coal can be mined.

Located in the powder river basin of Wyoming, the rochester coal mine in the United States is currently the largest recoverable coal mine in the world. It belongs to the open-pit mine, which can extract more than 2.3 billion tons of coal and is one of the largest coal fields in the world. It is owned by Peabody energy.

2. Halusu opencast coal mine, China: more than 1.7 billion tons can be mined

Harusu opencast coal mine is located in the east of zengerqi (xuejiayan town), ordos city, Inner Mongolia autonomous region. The recoverable coal reserves are 1.73 billion tons, the average thickness of coal seam is 21.01 meters, and the designed service life is 79 years.
